There is always a first

Who would have thought that I would ever have a blog site, but here I am.  No idea why I wanted one but then again why not.
I love to go caravanning with hubby, whether in our newbie or in our vintage van.   Now there's a story with vintage vans.  We recently purchased a Kennedy caravan circa 1969 from a family in Victoria.  They purchased it new and went on regular family holidays for a few years.  For the last 30 years it has sat protected in their garage.  It is in as new condition and it really is a time capsule.  It is quite a find for us as there are very few of them around, or so we are learning.  We have just started going away for weekends with the Vintage Vanners - www.vintagecaravans.com and have been learning all things about vintage vans.  Now what defines a vintage van?  They have to be pre 1970 or a reproduction of same.  There are some real enthusiasts in the group.  Some love to keep all thing original and others love nothing better than to retro them.  At this stage we will keep ours original.  A lot of the hot rodder movement love nothing better than to tow a van of the same era as their rod, so many are seen on the roads.
It's not to say we don't still love our newbie, we sure do.  It has a few more luxuries and comforts, and it the van of choice when travelling further afield.
We love to get away in our vans and can't wait for the time when we retire and have the freedom to do this as we please.  My desire is to get a group of like minded Christians together who love to caravan and get away together for weekends or occasional weeks of both leisure and to also help out others who might need a hand.
